Pizzelles are Italian waffle cookies. They consist mainly of flour, eggs, sugar, and butter. Every year I make them with my family. It’s my favorite Christmas tradition! There are many recipes out there for pizzelles but I found that the recipe from allrecipes.com yeilds the best results. They’re crisp and firm when cooled but slightly soft and airy too. They’re perfectly sweet and can be molded into a cannoli shape without breaking, if you want to make fancy cannolis.
